My grandma played a lot of penny poker. I was allowed to sit and watch, but I don't remember being allowed to play very often. I think she took her penny poker quite seriously. Strategy is a huge part of the game. As Kenny Rogers put it, knowing when to hold the hand you've been dealt and when to fold, even knowing when it's time to leave the table, is a key to the gambler's success or failure.

We would think it odd if a player kept playing the exact same hand in game after game. But how many of us are playing the game of life according to obsolete ideas, useless paradigms, toxic relationships, and incorrect assumptions? Sometimes we just need to be smart enough to know when to quit!
